Human Resource Development and Corporate Culture

We will introduce some of the measures that we are implementing to develop human resources and nurture an appropriate corporate culture.

Human Resources Development

Crasus Chemical provides employees with a range of educational programs according to their job ranks and types.
In particular, we focus on education to ensure plant safety, stability and security.
For example, to employees who are expected to play central roles at the Oita Complex in the future, we are providing mid-level education to help them acquire advanced knowledge and skills regarding safety and others as well as interpersonal skills to develop them into core personnel able to support on-site operations. Moreover, we are providing advanced-level education to develop personnel who can lead the safe and stable operation of the Complex by drawing on more advanced knowledge.

Career and Ability Development

In order to support employees in developing their careers, we are making effective use of an online learning platform that provides them with self-paced learning opportunities. We are also operating an in-house job application system as a means to enable employees to voluntarily apply for a job transfer within the company as a way to develop their careers.

Support for Work-Life Balance

We support employees in choosing working arrangements suitable for their respective lifestyles

Employee Engagement Survey

We have been conducting an employee engagement survey to boost employee engagement and build a corporate culture that helps autonomous and creative personnel to thrive.

Oita GENBARYOKU Transformation (OGT) Activity

In order to enhance genbaryoku (on-site capabilities)* at the Oita Complex, we established the Oita GENBARYOKU Transformation (OGT) & Promotion Group in August 2022. Going beyond the conventional Oita Production System (OPS) reform activities, the Group is leading the further enhancement of on-site capabilities through measures such as making effective use of digitalization technology and promoting examinations for co-creation between internal organizations and with external parties. The OGT activity is intended to achieve our vision of establishing the most powerful complex in Asia, where affluence and sustainable growth are harmonized. Through this activity, we are making examinations for cross-departmental collaboration and promoting improvement activities, in which all employees participate through the small-group (circle) activities conducted by their departments.

* On-site capabilities means the ability of on-site workers to autonomously identify and solve issues based on the principle of attributing importance to the following five elements: actual place, actual thing, actual situation, basic logic and basic rules.

Oita Values

We formulated the Oita Values in 2022 as the specific values expected to be upheld by Oita Complex workers based on the Resonac Group’s Purpose and Values. The team that was subsequently formed and tasked with instilling the Values has been promoting their implementation and providing employees with opportunities to discuss them.
For example, the team held an event named “Kik-cafe” to promote cross-departmental exchange and installed a “free drink” vending machine*1. Also, each department of the Oita Complex conducted an activity named “Positive It” to highlight and praise the efforts made by department members to implement the Values. In recognition of these activities, the Oita Complex won a gold prize for two consecutive years at the AHA! 2023 and AHA! 2024 global awards*2 held by the Resonac Group.

*1 “Free drink” vending machine: Service offered to corporate customers by Suntory Beverage & Food Limited for the revitalization of communication among employees. When two employees scan their cards at the same time, the machine will dispense two free drinks.

*2 AHA! is an initiative implemented by the Resonac Group to encourage its employees to form teams and foster the implementation of the Values through cross-organizational communication.
