Message from the Representative of the Oita Complex
We will share a message from Nobuyoshi Yamada, Representative of the Oita Complex, the production base of Crasus Chemical, along with the introduction of its genbaryoku (on-site capabilities).
Chemistry is expected to enrich people’s lives, be friendly to the environment and contribute to the creation of a sustainable society. It is thus essential that chemical companies conduct technological research and development to meet these expectations.
Under its current name and that of its predecessor, Crasus Chemical has been pursuing high-level operational and equipment reliability since the launch of Showa Denko’s Oita Complex in 1969. Giving first priority to compliance and safety, we have been continuing this pursuit while positioning genbaryoku (on-site capabilities)*1 as the basis of our business. On-site capabilities means the ability of on-site workers to autonomously identify and solve issues based on the principle of attributing importance to the following five elements: actual place, actual thing, actual situation, basic logic and basic rules. We have built up our on-site capabilities as the basis of our technological proficiency as a result of meeting challenges to keep narrowing the gap between our vision and reality.
Using our on-site capabilities to further hone our technologies, we have recently introduced smart technology to enhance the safety, stability and security of our production. Furthermore, as a result of our long-term R&D efforts, we have developed proprietary catalyst technologies and PCP/MOF technology, which provide us with our core competence. We are highly rated for these technologies and are licensing our catalyst technologies in our overseas technology licensing business and utilizing the PCP/MOF technology for carbon neutrality-related development activities. For GX, we are going beyond the use of our own technologies and working on multifaceted development in cooperation with other Resonac Group companies as well as with universities and local governments.
In addition to our focus on technology, Crasus Chemical is also focused on nurturing a corporate culture that encourages our co-creative talent to demonstrate autonomy and creativity along with other abilities as a source of technologies. Created with the participation of all employees, the Oita Values*2 is an example of initiatives that we have implemented to this end and represent a statement of the values that are important to us.
Based on its purpose, which is to support daily life of tomorrow through chemistry, Crasus Chemical will achieve further growth through co-creation with a range of stakeholders and continue to contribute to enriching the lives of our stakeholders, including local communities.
