Technology License
We have been proactively licensing our manufacturing technologies.
Licensing Our Manufacturing Technologies
Since 2015, we have been licensing our vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) production technology to several petrochemical manufacturers in China and India based on the alliance agreement concluded with KBR of the United States. We have also been licensing our allyl alcohol production technology to a petrochemical manufacturer in Saudi Arabia, and the licensee has been stably manufacturing the product since 2009. The lineup of our licensable technologies also includes a method to produce ethyl acetate by using ethylene materials and a method to produce acetic acid. In the licensing business, we have also been supplying high-performance catalysts, which we have designed and developed over many years, along with process design packages and know-how for safe and stable operation.
As one of our strengths, we have high-level technological capabilities gained through operation at the Oita Complex for more than 40 years. We have proven track records in terms of production and maintenance technologies, R&D, quality management and intellectual property. In particular, we have excellent technologies for analysis and performance evaluation in commercial operation as well as for catalyst and process design. Moreover, we have pursued high-selectivity and low-energy consuming processes over decades to provide the world’s top-level environment-friendly technologies. By providing total solutions based on these technologies, we are contributing to optimizing the operation and improving the performance of a new plant, particularly in countries where the petrochemical industry is still in the developing stage.
